Do you want to be a part of a
vibrant and creative collective of artists from
western New England? The
Shelburne Arts Cooperative has been in operation
since 1998. We are member-owned and
member-operated.
Working Members run the gallery on
a day-to-day basis and receive 70% of
the sale of their work. Working Members are responsible for
working an average of 12 hours a month in the gallery and/or on
various tasks and committees. Non-Working Members
receive 50% of the sale of their work.
Annual dues
for Working Members are $50. Annual dues for
Non-Working Members are $80. Members tag
their work and are responsible for keeping track
of their inventory in the gallery.
Our Members meet the first Tuesday
of each month to coordinate and manage the
Co-op's operation. Members are encouraged
to attend our monthly meetings where planning,
updates and jurying are discussed.
Non-Working Members are welcome to participate in monthly meeting
discussions, but do not have the right to vote.
If you are interested in
joining our Cooperative, please email at least 5
images representative of your work to SAC01370@gmail.com. In your email, include a description and retail price of each image and
a short bio. Your work must be original and created by you. If you are submitting framed
art, please describe your framing technique.
Also indicate whether you want to be a
Working Member or a Non-Working Member. Include your
web address if you you have a website.
If we feel your work will be a
good fit for our Co-op, you will be invited to
submit at least 5 pieces of your work with retail prices for jurying.
Jurying takes place at our monthly meetings the
first Tuesday of each month. Please drop your work off between the 10th and the 20th of the month to enable us to complete the jury process by the next Members Meeting. When you drop off your work at the Co-op, you will also complete a jury
form. There is a $5 jury fee to cover
administrative costs.
An invitation to be juried is not a
guarantee your work will be accepted. If your work is not accepted, we ask that your work be picked
up within 7 days of the date your
work was juried. If your work is not picked
up within 30 days, it becomes the
property of
the Co-op.
